About Keith Weber

eith Weber is president and CEO of the Civicus Group, an Oklahoma City-based firm providing research, grant writing, consulting and government contracting services to businesses, institutions of higher education, Native American tribes, state government agencies and nonprofit associations since 2003. Weber is heavily involved in client relations from the recruitment and acquisition of diverse public and private clients to grant research, submissions and consulting, especially in the area of government contracts.
Civicus clients have received funding from government agencies such as the United States Department of Agriculture, the United States Department of Defense, the United States Department of Education, numerous firms doing business in Oklahoma and virtually all Oklahoma-based private foundations. In addition to grant writing, Weber and Civicus have been highly successful pursuing government contracts and helping clients secure government contracts in excess of $100 million across multiple agencies in recent months.
From 1997 to 2003, Weber was assistant to the president and then executive director of the Presidential Partners program at the University of Central Oklahoma where he studied political science and public relations. Among his many honors and activities, Weber was a Boys State and Boys Nation delegate, UCO Student Body President and served on the Easter Seals national board. He is an alumnus and past president of Leadership Edmond, a current member of the Edmond Sun editorial board and a member to several more respected civic boards.

About Philip D. Patterson

hilip Patterson has been a senior consultant with Civicus since 2016. Dr. Patterson has been a journalist, an award-winning collegiate journalism professor at Oklahoma Christian University and a textbook author for nearly 40 years. He was also the head of a national accrediting body for private secondary schools for 20 years.
At Civicus, Dr. Patterson conducts research and first drafts for grant proposals. His other duties include proofreading and copy editing client-submitted materials and researching grants for clients. Dr. Patterson gained his grant writing experience at OCU where he wrote grants for more than 20 years, which includes grants that partially funded the Prince Engineering Center, the Garvey Center and Enterprise Square USA. He received grants from the National Science Foundation and the National Endowment for the Humanities for his personal research into media effects and media and technology.
Dr. Patterson is the author of more than a dozen books for the collegiate and religious market. He has lectured extensively on media effects and media ethics. His textbook, Media Ethics: Issues and Cases is the nation’s leading text in its field and translated into five languages. He has been an NEH fellow and the winner of teaching awards from OCU, the Society of Professional Journalists and the Poynter Institute. He has been named an outstanding alumnus of Lubbock Christian High School, Lubbock Christian College and Abilene Christian University.
